Innovate for Impact: Global Sustainability Challenge

Mayfair Students invites you to Innovate for Impact: Global Sustainability Challenge, a four-day immersive online workshop where participants collaborate in teams to design practical, real-world solutions to pressing urban sustainability challenges. Over the course of the workshop, students will work in groups to research, plan, and develop innovative solutions addressing issues such as energy efficiency, sustainable transport, or waste management. Teams will then present their solutions to industry mentors during the final session, competing for recognition and exciting rewards.

This multi-day event is designed to give participants hands-on experience, practical problem-solving skills, and mentorship, while also providing the chance to develop a portfolio-worthy project.

What You'll Do

Project-Based Collaboration

Work in teams of four to tackle a real-life urban sustainability challenge. Brainstorm, research, and design actionable solutions that balance creativity, feasibility, and impact. Develop a professional presentation showcasing your solution, research process, and potential benefits. Mentorship & Guidance Industry mentors will support each team throughout the workshop, providing guidance on problem-solving, research, and presentation skills. Receive constructive feedback to refine your ideas and approach. Interactive Presentations & Evaluation Teams present their solutions to a panel of mentors on the final day. Presentations are evaluated on creativity, feasibility, collaboration, and presentation quality.

Event Schedule

Day 1 – Icebreaker & Team Formation 5:00 – 5:15 PM: Welcome & Workshop Overview 5:15-6:00 PM: Icebreaker activities and team introductions 6:00-7:00 PM: Introduction to the sustainability challenge and initial brainstorming

Day 2 – Research & Concept Development 5:00 – 5:15 PM: Recap & guidance from mentors 5:15-6:30 PM: Team research on existing solutions, innovation opportunities, and feasibility 6:30-7:00 PM: Mentor feedback on concept Ideas

Day 3 – Prototype & Presentation Preparation 5:00 – 5:15 PM: Quick recap and Q&A 5:15-6:15 PM: Develop solution prototypes or concept visuals 6:15 – 7:00 PM: Prepare final presentation slides and practice pitching
